Our group investigated the effect of V-containing precursors on the structure of Cs-salt phosphomolybdates and catalytic performance of isobutane oxidation. Three effects can be traced back to the precursors: surface acidity, the location of V species and ratio of V4+/V5+ and Mo5+/Mo6+ redox couples.
